Obituary of Howard E. Schulien

Howard E. Schulien, Jr. of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years old. Howard was born on November 12, 1949 in North Hampton, Massachusetts to the late Howard and the late Mary (Rudyk) Schulien. Howard enjoyed working with his hands and was employed as a union carpenter with Local Union #620 for many years before retiring. He attended the University of Massachusetts where he met his wife, Susan. Howard and his wife lived in Wyoming where he enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Later they moved to Hopatcong where they raised their family and he enjoyed birdwatching and keeping many varieties of house plants. Since retirement, Howard enjoyed traveling and the "planning" of the trips was even more of a thrill. Howard is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Susan, his sons, Howard III & his wife, Jennifer, John & his partner, Felicia and Michael. Additional survivors include his cherished granddaughter, Dylan, his siblings, Mary (Clive), John (Barbie), Bill (Kelly) and Aleta and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Howard's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Friday, March 12th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm with A Prayer Service offered at 6:30 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
