Obituary of Thomas Gisonna
Thomas F. Gisonna passed away on Thursday February 21 at Merry Heart Care Center in Succasunna. He was 92.
Born on May 13, 1920 in New York City to the late Luigi and Maria, Thomas resided in Brooklyn and was a former Hopatcong resident. He served in the US Army during World War II, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Thomas was a truck driver for Davis and Warsaw Plumbing and Heating Supply in Maspeth, NY, The Plumbing Store in Stanhope and Speedwell Plumbing in Dover and Morristown before retirement. He volunteered at Lyons VA Hospital for over 50 years and was a member of VFW Post 10101 in Hopatcong and American Legion Posts of Stanhope and Mine Hill.
Devoted husband of 72 years to Bridget, beloved father of Ronald Gisonna and wife, Linda and beloved Daddy of Jo-Ann Gisonna. Survivors also include a brother, five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Thomas was predeceased by a son, Gaetano (Tom).
