Obituary of Jayne M. Sobotka

Jayne M. Sobotka (nee LaPierre), 66, of Hopatcong, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ on September 5, 1954 to the late Wilfred and Grace (Bartlett) LaPierre, Jayne has resided in Hopatcong since 1978. She enjoyed a 45 year career in the medical field and was a Clinical Instructor for the Radiography Program at County College of Morris in Randolph. Jayne was a member of the American Society of Radiological Technologists, the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, the NJ Society of Radiological Technologists and the American Association of Notaries. Jayne's greatest joy was spending time with her family and was always encouraging and supportive of her children. She took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Nana". Jayne also enjoyed going to casinos, traveling and visiting the Jersey Shore. Survivors include her husband John J., children Jennifer Kelly (Dennis), Jessica Dumpert, Jacquelyn Ciardi (Vincent) and Dr. John J. Sobotka, II (Jaclyn), grandchildren Dennis, Declan and Quinn Kelly, Brooke and Claire Ciardi and Zoë Sobotka and sister Barbara Young. Also surviving are her grand dogs Rory, Ever and Lily Dumpert. Jayne was predeceased by her brother Arthur LaPierre. Jayne's Life Celebration will include visiting on Sunday May 16, 2021 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong. Jayne will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
