Obituary of Vito Biase

Vito Biase, 89, of Belvidere, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ. Born in Bronx, NY, On September 17, 1931 to the late Giuseppe and Cosima (Carrieri) Biase, Vito grew up in the Bronx and resided in the Landing section of Roxbury for 30 years prior to moving to Belvidere 20 years ago. He was a Union Plumber employed by Local #1 in Brooklyn, NY prior to retirement. Vito served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. Above all, Vito was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Fanny (Nuzzolo), three daughters Carol Thompson, Lois Foreman and Darlene Petrower, five grandchildren Carly, Michael, Lisa, Robert and Lindsay and five great grandchildren Philip, Alyssa, Catherine, Colin and Taylor. Vito's Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Tuesday June 8th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. The family requests flowers be omitted.
