Today we celebrate Dennis, and send our heartfelt condolences to Margaret and the Specht family. We were next-door neighbors for the last 15 years. The first year, he welcomed us to the family Christmas tree cutting and dinner at the Stroudsmoor Inn, a tradition he fostered for decades. He was the most giving person one could know. He always lent a helping hand when needed. Mr. Dennis, as our daughters called him, always had words of encouragement. During many a late afternoon, I could find Dennis ready to kick back in his garage, have a beer, listen to doowop, discuss the day’s events, and maybe teach me a lesson or two…and he always had a pretzel my dog Scout. We couldn’t have been blessed with a better neighbor, and will miss him greatly. Auf Wiedersehen Dennis.

We wish our sincere condolences tothe Specht family, Margaret, Dennis Jr., Sandi, Cherilyn, and grandchildren.
Dennis was my best friend for over 60 years. We grew up in Jefferson Twp. experiencing may enjoyable times that are endelible in my mind. Playing rock and roll at school centeeens with our band "The Continentals" and later as "The Fugitives" playing at bare around Lake Hopatcong and Greenwood Lake in the 1960's. Dennis was a great drummer in the band and motivater.
Dennis was a talented man in many aspects of life, a great athlete, conscientious in anything he persued. Always a heartwarming smile. A wonderful father with a beautiful family. I will miss the times we had fishing on the Jersy Shore, a true [assion with Dennis, he sure was good at that.
As a true friend I will always remember you.

My husband John and I knew Dennis through fishing with him on the Carolyn Ann III out of Barnegat Light. He was a delightful, sweet, caring, and funny man, as well as a good fisherman! Pa was a warm, loving, kind and gentle man! It wasn’t his tall stature or presence that set him apart but his gentle mannerism and love for everyone. He welcomed us into his home and family with a giant smile and a bear hug :) It was our privilege to know and love him.
We definitely know he has already found the best fishing hole in existence!
To our Specht family, we know the incredible sense of his loss and you have our love and prayers. Pa isn’t gone! He is such a strong presence in his family: 2 amazing children and daughter in law, 2 loving grandchildren and a strong wife and mother. We thank you for including us in your lives. We will honor Pa’s memory and keep him alive in our hearts and through our shared stories.
