Obituary of Albert M. Dunphy

Albert M. Dunphy of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old. Albert was born on September 15, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to the late William and the late Catherine (Novak) Dunphy. Albert was a resident of Staten Island, NY until moving to Mt. Arlington in 1971. He also had a second resident in St. Augustine, Florida. Albert was a proud member of the Mt. Arlington Fire Department for 47 years. He was a truck driver for the NY Daily News for many years before retiring. Albert enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling but importantly, he loved spending time with his devoted family and many friends. Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Eileen, his daughter, Eileen Valentino, his son, John Dunphy and his cherished grandchildren; Erin Valentino, Evan Valentino and Adam Apostle. He was pre-deceased by his brother, William Dunphy. Albert's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Sunday, July 11th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm with a Fireman's Service offered at 4:30 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. Albert will be laid to rest at Moravian Cemetery in Staten Island, NY on Monday, July 12th at 11:30 am. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the cemetery on Monday morning.
