Obituary of Donna A. Coles

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you that our beloved Donna A. Coles, 73, of the Ledgewood section of Roxbury Township passed away Sunday May 30, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital, Wayne, NJ. Born on August 13, 1947 in Mount Kisco, New York to the late Joseph Dellutro and the late Angelina Dellutri. She lived in Connecticut prior to moving to New Jersey in 2010. Donna grew up in the countryside of New York State moving to Harrison, NY as a teenager with her family. Donna loved riding horses and owned a grocery store, the Applehouse, located in Norfolk Connecticut. Her time there was spent servicing the community, especially those in need, delivering food each week and hosting the yearly visit with Santa. Later in life, Donna ran the Avon Old Farms School Student Bank in Avon, CT. She so enjoyed the students and helping them, with them all becoming her extended family. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking lasagna, sauce, and stuffing for the holidays, playing Rummy 500 and usually winning. After retirement, her focus was directed fully and thoroughly to her beloved grandson Logan, being little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a lot bit best friend. She had great fashion sense and always exuded kindness towards others with a smile. Beloved wife of the late Roger Coles. Devoted mother of Brandon. Loving grandmother of Logan. Dear sister of Mayme, JoAnn, Joseph, Charles, Angela, and Cheryl. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements are private. Memorial donations may be made to Teamgleason.org.
