Our deepest sorrow and love Richard, Matthew, Michael, Alice and your children at the loss of your wonderful mother and grandmother. My grandmother Catherine was a Costa, and we were privileged to have Richie in our lives, as he visited often when we lived in Brooklyn - a wonderful person. When Richie introduced us to Ernestine, we loved her instantly as everyone did, a smile for everyone, lighting up a room with her warmth and love. Ernestine and Richie helped tremendously in planning my parent's (Rose and Joe Genova) 25th wedding anniversary party. We made pottery vases as favors with Ernestine teaching us how to refine and paint the vases - so fun and memorable. When I think of Ernestine, I think of thoughtfulness, kindness, compassion, warmth, love and devotion to friends and family, and always ready with a beautiful smile. When I think of Ernestine and Richie, I cannot think of another couple who looked at each other with more love and admiration. I can remember Ernestine walking down the aisle at their wedding with the biggest smile I had ever seen on someone, and I thought to myself that she was the happiest person I had ever seen. Peace Ernestine, as you are reunited with Richie, your parents, your siblings and now my mom. Forever in our hearts and prayers.
