Obituary of John H. Hayes

John H. Hayes, 87, of Hopatcong, NJ passed away at VNA Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover Campus. Born on October 1, 1933 to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Endreson) Hayes, John has resided in Hopatcong for 53 years. John served proudly in the United States Army from 1958 until 1962. He worked as a Lithographer for over 40 years and after his retirement, John drove a school bus for Byram Bus Company for 20 years. He enjoyed, baseball, golfing and boating. John was a parishioner of St. Jude's Church in Hopatcong where he was a member of their Knights of Columbus Council. He was also a member of the BPO Elks Lodge and a volunteer at Northwood Engine Co. #2 in Hopatcong. John was predeceased by his beloved wife Kay in 2014. Survivors include his five children, Thomas Hayes, Gary Hayes, Barbara Giangrande, Joanne Bourke and Theresa Leggio, twelve grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a sister Eleanor Burell. John's Life Celebration will include a funeral Mass on August 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. All are invited to meet at Church for Mass.
