Gerald E. Corby 83, passed from this life, Friday, August 6, 2021. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, at the time of his passing he resided at Spring Hills Assisted Living Facility, Morristown, NJ. Born on August 19, 1937 in Montclair NJ, the son of William and Mary (Harrington) Corby. He attended Sacred Heart School, Bloomfield, NJ and graduated from Bayley-Ellard HS '55, Madison NJ. He was a US Air Force Veteran and he performed duties as a Weatherman while in service. Gerald had two major careers, one as a Recording Engineer and another as a Radio Engineer. He had for a time a Recording Studio in Bound Brook, NJ, called Media Four Recording Studio until the big flood of 1969 destroyed all the equipment. He recorded educational Language Tapes. While there he met his wife, Martha. He recorded and sent out to all syndicated Radio stations a song by The Doors, Light my Fire. Since he was mainly interested in Classical Music, he was not aware he cut off a few minutes from that recording, an Oopsie Moment. As a Radio Engineer he performed Radio Output measurements for a number of major broadcast outlets in the metropolitan area. His passions were traveling the USA, Classical Music and he was a "basement inventor." He had hopes of building a self-rejuvenating battery. His wife's father was a cousin to Nikola Tesla, that may be where he drew his passion for that invention. He was a patron to: New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO), Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Carnegie Hall, and The Allentown Band who specializes in music by John Phillip Sousa and was a member of The Audiophile Society. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Martha Radnovich Grenewicz Corby; brothers William E. Corby and Arthur O. Corby; two sons Joel Grenewicz and Ryan Grenewicz.
