Obituary of Douglas Lloyd Twaits

Douglas Lloyd Twaits, Sr. of Stanhope passed away Thursday August 12, 2021 at home. He was 77. Born in Dover on January 29, 1944 to the late Joseph Twaits and the late Ruth (Lloyd) Twaits, he has lived in Stanhope since 1969. Douglas was a lineman for JCP&L in Boonton. An Army Reserve Veteran, he was a member of the Stanhope United Methodist Church and the Lakekand Area Model Boat Club. He enjoyed racing radio control boats, snowmobiling, model airplanes (remote control and control line), motorcycling, vintage snowmobiles and car shows. Beloved husband of the late Ann Ruth (Testa) Twaits. Devoted father of Douglas Twaits, Jr. and Donna Wien. Loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Joseph Twaits. Dear brother-in-law of Doris Twaits. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Douglas's Life Celebration on Tuesday August 17 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM in the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday August 18 at 1:00PM at the Stanhope United Methodist Church, 2 Rt.183, Netcong. All are invited to meet directly at church. Interment: Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. All are welcome to join the family after the interment at the Black River Barn Restaurant, 1178 Rt. 10 West, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stanhope United Methodist Church "Raise the Roof Fund".
