Obituary of Richard Timothy Ryan, Sr.

Richard Timothy Ryan, Sr., 76, of Hopatcong, NJ passed away on Monday August 23, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 15, 1945 in Paterson, NJ to the late James and Florence (Blakney) Ryan, Richard has resided in Hopatcong for the past 18 years. He was an "Over the Road" Truck Driver for various companies for over 30 years. Prior to his retirement, he drove a dump truck for Haftek Trucking Company in Paterson. In addition, Richard was a sheriff's officer with the Passaic County Sherriff's Office. Richard enjoyed firearms, going to the shooting range and trips to the casinos, especially to play the slot machines. Survivors include his wife Helen (Fletcher), children Richard Timothy, Jr. and his wife Anahid Dinkjian and Kelly Ann Moore and husband Richard J., Jr., two grandchildren SSgt Matthew R. Gregory, U.S.A.F. and his wife Katelyn and Conner Gregory, four sisters Lorraine Scheilein, Betty Terri, Donna Biagi and husband Eugene and Kimberly Frackenthal and husband Jeffery and two brothers Thomas Ryan and Arthur Ryan. Arrangements are private and under the direction of Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the charity of your choice in Richard's memory.
