Obituary of John J. Ruocco, Jr.

John J. Ruocco, Jr., formerly of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2021 at his home in Little Egg Harbor, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old. John was born on March 14, 1942 in Paterson, NJ to the late John and the late Livia (Papa) Ruocco. John was a longtime resident of Hopatcong, NJ before eventually moving to Little Egg Harbor two years ago. Mr. Ruocco proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was a proud member of the Lakeland chapter of UNICO national including having held positions of District Governor and President of the local chapter. John also served as President of the West Shore Democratic Club. John was also a graduate of the RCA Institute of Technology and a member of the American Legion and a Garden State GTO Car Club member. John took great pride in owning his Cherry Red 1970 Pontiac GTO and had a passion for attending garage sales. John was the President and owner of Royal Television Inc. for more than 30 years followed by a long career at Morristown Memorial Hospital in the role of Lead Audio Visual Technician but his greatest joy was spending time with his devoted family and many friends. John is survived by his daughter, Laura Faronea and her husband Nat, his son, Robert Ruocco and his wife Laura Ann, his cherished grandchildren, Charles, Samantha, Calvin & his wife, Courtney and Jonathan and his four great grandchildren. Additional survivors include his two step-grandchildren, Joe and Jon and their families. John was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Josephine in 1989 and his second wife Rae in 2002. John's Life Celebration will be include a visitation on Wednesday, September 1st from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Catholic Prayer Service offered at 12:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. John will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Josephine at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ.
