Obituary of Celia A. Hester

Celia A. Hester, 74 of Byram Township, passed away on Friday September 3, 2021 at Newton Medical Center. Born on June 18, 1947 in Jersey City to the late Joseph and Ruth (Thumann) Vazzona, Celia has resided in Byram Township since 2005. She worked as an Office Manager for Nu Products Seasoning in Oakland, NJ. She was a member of Waterloo United Methodist Church and was active in their Bible Group and instrumental in their clothing and food drives for the homeless. Celia also enjoyed reading and spending time with her beloved family. Survivors include two sons Martin and wife Jennifer and Ryan and wife Heidi Huff and three granddaughters Josephine-Melina Hester, Alexandra Hester and Julia Hester. Also surviving is Celia's long-time companion Leon Burbank. Celia's Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Saturday September 11, 2021 beginning at 2:00 PM at Waterloo United Methodist Church, Waterloo Village Road, Stanhope, NJ 07874. A prayer service will begin at 3:15 PM. Cremation was conducted privately.
