Obituary of Daniel W. Cotreau

Daniel W. Cotreau ("Danny") of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, September 10, 2021 at home. Danny was born on April 7, 1992 in Denville, NJ. Danny was a long-time resident of Hopatcong, NJ and he was employed as a pool technician at Town & Country Pool Service in New Vernon, NJ. Danny was a 2010 graduate of Hopatcong High School, a 2012 graduate of County College of Morris and a 2014 graduate of East Stroudsburg University. Danny was an avid soccer and basketball player. Danny excelled on the soccer field having played soccer all of his life. While continuing to play in high school and at the varsity level in college as well. With all his great accomplishments throughout his sporting career his greatest times were when he was being coached by his Dad. Danny is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Daniel and Barbara (nee Meade) Cotreau, his loving Aunts & Uncles; Aileen & Dave Cobb, Jim & Debbie Cotreau, Mike & Kristin Cotreau, Tom & Jill Cotreau, Cara Cotreau & Mick Addeo, and his godfather, Tim Baty. Additional survivors include his loving and supportive grandparents, Edwina Meade and James & Janine Cotreau. His cousins Nicholas, Dylan, Tyler, Melissa, Rebecca, Sarah, Tristin, Becca and Shelly. His loving extended family and loyal friends and of course his super puppy, Eli Manning. Danny was pre-deceased by his grandfather, Walter S. Meade and his uncles, Walter James Meade and David Cotreau. Daniel's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Saturday, September 18th from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm with a Prayer Service offered at 3:30 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. Danny will be laid to rest privately at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover, NJ. All funeral arrangements are under the direction of and entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home.
