Obituary of Severo B. Castro

Severo B. (Jun) Castro, 80, of the Lake Hopatcong section of Jefferson Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Philippines, Severo has resided in Lake Hopatcong for many years. He loved music and traveling. Severo was a devout Catholic and a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Lake Hopatcong. He worked as a Civil Engineer at Parsons Brinkerhof in New York City before retiring. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years Marcelina, daughters Maria (Donna) McLaughlin and her husband David and Mary Ann (Annie) Yamamoto, grandchildren Ryan, Celina and Ren, and two sisters Aida Jacques and Isabel Castro. Severo's Life Celebration will include visiting on Friday, October 15 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ, 973-398-3000. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, October 16 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Lake Hopatcong. The remainder of services will be private.
