Obituary of William T. Bulger, Jr.

William T. Bulger, Jr. of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2021. He was 78 years old. William was born on July 24, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to the late William Sr. and the late Mae (Stevenson) Bulger. William proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was an active parishioner of St. Jude RC Church and a longtime resident of Hopatcong, NJ. William was an elevator mechanic for 45 years and a proud member of Local One Elevator Constructors before retiring. Bill was known for his heroic fundraising efforts where he would swim across Lake Hopatcong to raise money for local charities and deserving individuals. William enjoyed swimming and singing karaoke but most importantly, he loved spending time with his devoted family and many friends. William is survived by his five loving children; William T. Bulger III, wife, Sherrie, Janice Winegar husband, Robert, Thomas Bulger wife, Doreen, Arlene Guiles husband, Hunter and Eric Vreeland, his cherished grandchildren; Christina and husband Jon, Billy and wife Kayla, Amelia, Torre, Robert, Kaleigh, Makenzie, Wyatt his great grandchildren; Riley, Charlotte, Liam, Emerson and Arabella. William was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary in 2015 and his siblings Jack Bulger, Patricia Dennis and Mary Muller. William's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Monday, November 8th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, November 9th at 10:00 am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. All are invited to meet directly at church Tuesday morning. William will be laid to rest with his loving wife at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ.
