Obituary of Charles Abbate

Charles Abbate, devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, World War II veteran, vocal Roosevelt Democrat and avid fisherman died peacefully at Morristown Memorial Medical Center on January 22, 2013. Charlie, age 96, was born in Passaic, NJ and was one of nine children born to Jennie and Victor Abbate. He is survived by his wife, Connie, daughters Barbara Abbate Drake and Francene Stetz and her husband, Steve, granddaughter Kimberly Stetz, brother Frank Abbate, sisters Mary and Josie and many nieces and nephews. Charlie retired from Bell Laboratories, Whippany, NJ, was a member of Roxbury Ever Young Senior Citizens, VFW Post #2833 of Kenvil and American Legion Quentin Roosevelt Post #8 in Clifton.
