Obituary of Daniel J. Cotreau
Daniel J. Cotreau of Hopatcong, NJ passed away of a short illness on January 13, 2022. At St. Clare’s Medical Center in Dover, New Jersey. Dan was born on January 13, 1964 in Lynn, Mass.
He was 1982 graduate of Morris Knolls High School then went on to graduate from Montclair State University. He worked for over 20 years for the Denville Board Education where he formed life long friendships. He continued his career with Somerset Hills School District as Transportation Manager. Once again with friendships that will not be forgotten.
But with all his school and career accomplishments in his life his greatest joy came from the pride he had in his son. Coaching him, supporting him, traveling with him and cheering him on were his happiest days of his life.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Meade) of 32 years. His loving parents Jim and Janine Cotreau and his caring mother-in-law Edwina M. Meade. Dan is also survived by his brothers, sister, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law’s, Jim and Debbie Cotreau, Mike and Kristen Cotreau, Tom and Jill Cotreau, Cara Cotreau and Mick Addeo, Aileen and Dave Cobb. His nieces and nephews Melissa, Rebecca, Sarah, Jensen, Shelly, Becca, Tristan, Nicholas, Dylan and Tyler and so many wonderful friends and extended family. Also, as Dan would call him his best friend Super Puppy Eli Manning.
Dan was pre-deceased by his loving son Daniel Walter Cotreau, his brother David Cotreau and his father-in-law Walter S. Meade.
Dan’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Friday, January 21st from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a Catholic Prayer Service offered at 6:30 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850.
