Obituary of Penelope E. Tomski

Penelope Elizabeth (Bennett) Tomski, 78, of Wharton, NJ passed away, peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover Campus.

Born in Jersey City, NJ on February 25, 1943 "Peni" lived in Bayonne, NJ and graduated from Bayonne HS. She was lovingly Adopted at 18 months old by Nellie Catherine Phillips(Pierson).

Peni was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Tomski on January 8, 2011 and her brother James T. Bennett.

Peni is survived by her loving daughters Nancy Kaiser & husband Albert of Green Township, and Rebecca Russo and her husband Vincent of Beach Haven and Verona. She cherished her grandchildren Ryan, Olivia & Mackenzie Kaiser and Vincent & Benjamin Russo. Also surviving are her sisters Audrey Williams and Jean Cardone and brother Thomas Bennett.

Peni graduated from Columbia School of Nursing in Manhattan and worked as a Pediatric and NICU Nurse for 49 years at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Staten Island, NY. Peni loved the casino and went several times a week playing the slots, winning often! She ate "brunch" every day at Bryan's Luncheonette where she was loved by the owners and patrons. She also bowled in a league for many years at Rockaway Lanes. Her children and grandchildren were her main focus and she attended all their games, concerts and any event they were involved in.

Peni's Life Celebration will include visiting on Thursday January 20th from 3:00-7:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered at 6:30 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
