Obituary of Juana Angelica Francisco

Juana "Juanita" Angelica Francisco, 95, of the Ledgewood section of Roxbury Township passed away at home on Sunday February 20, 2022 surrounded by her son and close friends that she considered to be family.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Juanita came to the United States in the 1950's. She later moved to Hopatcong in the 70's residing for many years prior to moving to Ledgewood nine years ago. Juanita loved gardening, cooking, animals and children but her greatest joy was her son. In addition, Juanita enjoyed chatting with her friends, reading and doing puzzles. She also was fond of watching her 1:00PM TV show, "Jang Bori is Here".

Juanita or "Cuca" to many friends was known for her thoughtful, loving and selfless nature. She possessed a unique sense of humor and was always "sharp as a tack". She had an incredible memory from the events in her youth.

Juanita loved her home country of Argentina, as well as their vacations to Florida and Niagara Falls with her husband when they retired. She traveled abroad to many countries in her younger years. Her favorite restaurant was Stonewater on Lake Hopatcong and she especially enjoyed spending time with her son at his home and the many projects her son was always working on.

Juanita was predeceased by her husband, Marcial in 2010 after 43 years of marriage.

Survivors include her son Charles Francisco and many dear friends and neighbors.

Juanita's Life Celebration will include visiting on Thursday February 24, 2022 from 4-8 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered Thursday evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Remaining services will be private.
