Obituary of Mary M. Dunphy

Mary M. Dunphy of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022 at The VNA Hospice of Northern NJ in Dover, NJ surrounded by her loving family. She was 57 years old. Mary was born on April 29, 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts to Dolores (Speranzo) Davis and the late Joseph Davis . Mary was employed by the State of New Jersey, Child Protective Services, as a principal clerk typist, with the Morris West LO. Mary really enjoyed the simple things in life. She spent most of her free time watching some of her favorite shows, Survivor, Amazing Race, Top Chef and Hallmark Movies just to name a few. She liked working on puzzles or sudoku, reading, and (attempting to) sing. She lived an active lifestyle playing volleyball, tennis and softball. She also enjoyed taking hikes with her husband Tom and her dog Bailey. Some of her favorite things to do were heading to Wildwood for the weekend to walk the boardwalk and enjoy the sunrise on the beach, always remembering to include her mom or having a night out playing bunko and drinking wine with her friends. Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Thomas Dunphy, her devoted daughters, Amanda Dunphy, Laura Dunphy and Elizabeth Dunphy, her mother, Dolores Davis, her brothers, Fran Davis and Joseph Davis and her sister, Lisa Davis. Mary was predeceased by her father, Joseph Davis, her sister, Cindy Davis and her brother, Martin Davis. Mary's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Tuesday, March 1st from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a funeral mass on Wednesday, March 2nd at 10:00 am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. Mary will be laid to rest on Thursday, March 3rd at 12:00 pm at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, Massachusetts. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. The Dunphy family is accepting and welcoming flowers to be delivered to the funeral home.
