Obituary of John V. Castellucci

John V. Castellucci of Stanhope, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old. John was born on January 27, 1945 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Charles and the late Florence (Florio) Castellucci.

John graduated from Westwood High School in 1963. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he served one tour in Vietnam. Mr. Castellucci was a police officer in Teaneck, NJ for 25 years before retiring. He resided in Stanhope, NJ for the past 49 years. John was an avid sports fan especially baseball and hockey. His favorite teams were the NY Mets and the NJ Devils but his greatest joy was spending time with his cherished family and coaching his grandchildren's baseball and softball teams and attending cub scout events.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen (Solheim) his children, Wendy Asplund and husband, Bruce, Debra Thomas and husband, Daniel and brother, Charles Castellucci and his cherished grandchildren, Kyle Thomas, Sara Thomas and Ryan Asplund. Additional survivors include his sister-in-law, Christine Bush and husband, Jon, his brother-in-law, Albert Solheim, his brother-in-law, David Solheim and wife, Susan and many nieces and nephews.

John's Life Celebration will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
