Obituary of Lauren Barri Shields

Lauren Barri Shields of Stanhope passed away Thursday March 31, 2022 at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover.

She was 51.

Born in Livingston on May 15, 1970 to Robert and the late Jacqueline (Blumenthal) Shermister, she was raised in Hopatcong and lived in Succasunna prior to moving to Stanhope 5 years ago.

A Legal Assistant with Pfizer in Morris Plains, Lauren was a member of the ASPCA. She enjoyed piano, dance, theater, the beach (Jersey Shore) and annual trips to Jamaica.

Beloved wife of Michael Shields. Cherished daughter of Robert Shermister and the late Jacqueline. Dear sister of Ken Shermister and his wife Stephanie. Loving daughter-in-law of James and Shirley Shields. Dear sister-in-law of Jeff Shields. Also survived by her cherished dog, “Nugget”.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lauren’s Life Celebration on Monday April 4 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM in the funeral home. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:30PM.

Cremation will be private.
