Obituary of Mildred Frances Gallo
Mildred Frances Gallo nee: St. Angelo passed away suddenly on April 29, 2022. She was 86 years old. Mildred was born in Dover, New Jersey to the late Salvatore and Angelina nee: Bencivengo from Netcong, New Jersey. For the past three years Mildred resided in Nazareth, PA and also spent a few years in Budd Lake after getting married. Otherwise, she lived most of her life on Barone Street in Netcong where she cherished many of her lifetime memories.
Mildred graduated from Netcong High School with a focus on business. After graduating, her career began as an administrative assistant for Bell Laboratories in Whippany for several years before getting married to her late husband Vincent J. Gallo, Sr, of Budd Lake, and then later becoming a mother to her sons Vincent Jr. and Robert. She re-entered the workforce several years later as an Office Assistant and Sales Rep for Plato Industries and Richey Electronics, both in Mt. Arlington and then went on to become an Operations Manager for Deanco in Fairfield. For a short time, Mildred also started her own successful office-cleaning business called Gym Dandy and before retiring, her last position was serving as the conciergerie for a Senior Living Facility in Mt. Arlington.
Mildred was an involved mother throughout the years raising her children. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, a classroom mother for school, a team mom for Little League and volunteered for just about anything that was needed when it came to both her son's activities. Mildred also served in the Ladies Auxiliary for Netcong Firehouse No. 2 for several years. She was affectionally known to most as "Mom", "Ma", "Mimi", "Mama Millie", "Millie G" and was often referred to as a second mom to many who knew her. She had a funny sense of humor and always made everyone feel welcomed in her home by either offering up something to eat, lend an ear, giving advice or playing match maker. In her lifetime, Mildred took pride in her home and enjoyed being crafty and creative, gardening and cooking her favorite Italian recipes. For a short time, she took up and liked playing golf. She loved her bingo, the slot machines and playing cards with her dear friends and cousin. Doing word search puzzles was also a favorite past time, but most of all Mildred cherished being a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, spending most of the time with her family whom she adored, loved and was so very proud of.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband Vincent J. Gallo, Sr. and her longtime companion, Joseph DeNaro. She leaves behind her two sons, Vincent, Jr. and his wife Jill of Sparta and Robert and his wife Renee of Roseto, PA. Six grandchildren Alyssa and her husband Thomas Fiore, Stacie and her fiancé Richard Masino, Vincent III, Nicolet, Zachary and Courtnee. Two great grandchildren, Antonio and Salvatore, her sister Jean Bates of Howell and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law's, and dear friends.
