Obituary of Lincoln Hully Edwards

Lincoln Hully Edwards of Hopatcong, NJ quietly passed away on Jan 10th, 2013 at home. He was born on Dec. 16th, 1930 in Morristown, NJ to Alma Nugent and Robert Jaqui Edwards. He leaves behind 2 daughters, Amy and her husband Phil Diodato of NJ and Rebecca and her former husband Jerry Elkins of Nevada, his beloved grandchildren Louisa and Michael Diodato and his former wife Adair Konrad (mother of Amy and Rebecca). Lincoln was pre-deceased by his brother, Robert C. Edwards and by his 2nd wife, Barbara (nee: Greco) Edwards. Lincoln received his civil engineering degree from Tri-State College now known as Trine University in Angola, Indiana. He was originally employed in his brother's engineering firm in Morristown, but eventually worked most of his career for Couvrette and Assoc. in Rockaway, NJ. His last employment was for Bricker and Associates also in Rockaway. In addition to his regular job, he served in various areas, including the Boonton Twp. Planning Board for many years. He loved surveying, continuing to be involved in the field even after his retirement. He was at one time involved in local Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs. Lincoln is a Korean War veteran, having served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 and continued to maintain his membership in the Air Force Association. He loved flying and held a private pilot's license. Another membership he participated in was the Roxbury Area Model Airplane Club (RAMAC), both building and flying radio controlled model airplanes. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. His many interests also included reading, listening to Big Band music, and would often sing karaoke with a dear friend, Linda. Lincoln loved animals and owned a cat, Sissy, who was his sole companion at home. Most of all Lincoln loved to be with his family, whenever possible, and they, with him.
