Obituary of Ruben Borgas

Ruben Borgas, 72, of Stanhope passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 4, 1949 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico to the late Julio and Amalia (Martinez) Borgas, Ruben resided in Bronx, NY and Englewood, NJ prior to moving to Stanhope in 2014. Ruben served proudly in the United States Army. He was retired from his occupation as a bank manager. Ruben enjoyed music, baseball, softball and handball.

Ruben was predeceased by his son-in-law Jorge Hurtado and grandchildren Isabelle & David Hurtado.

Survivors include his wife Milagros (Aquino), children Maggie Matos, Hector Aquino and Vanessa Hurtado, grandchildren James, Jennifer & Jacqueline Corbett and Mauricio & Rafael Aquino and sisters Miriam Rivera, Migdalia Borgas, Sonia Arroyo and Nancy Borgas. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Ruben's Life Celebration will include visiting on Sunday, May 29 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation's in Ruben's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
