Obituary of Alvin Arthur Gustav Cordts
Alvin Arthur Gustav Cordts, 81, of the Landing section of Roxbury Township passed away on Saturday June 11, 2022 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville Campus.
Born on January 15, 1941 in Weehawken, NJ to the late Otto and Teresa (Schmidt) Cordts, Alvin has resided in Landing for 53 years. He served proudly in the United States Army on both active duty and the Army Reserves. He was employed as a machinist at Groov-Pin in Ridgefield NJ for 30 years before his retirement.
Alvin's favorite pastime was traveling all over the world with his beloved wife, Theresa. Their favorite destination was Top Sail Island, NC. Alvin enjoyed spending time in his yard and pool, especially with his canine companions Maggie and the late Max. He enjoyed sitting in the sun, reading about history and wearing his many pieces of jewelry.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Theresa (Post), three daughters Danielle Kelly and her husband Brian, Michelle Werner and her husband Rob and Nicole Beeney and her husband, Matt and ten grandchildren Kaitlyn, Brian, Kyle & Timmy Kelly, Danny and Renata Cicala and Mathew, Nick, Joey & Tessa Beeney.
Alvin's Life Celebration will include visitation on Wednesday, June 15 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday June 16, beginning at 7:00 AM at St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong. All are invited to meet at directly at church for Mass. Alvin will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at 10:30 AM Thursday after Mass.
