I just had my check up at the office today and heard the devastating news. Jody always greeted me with her energetic hello and big smile. She was so caring and always took the time to ask me about my children husband and my mother. I loved chatting and laughing with her as we would wait for Dr. Richter to come in the room. Even when my appointment was over she and I would still be chatting and laughing . She always would talk to me about her daughters and husband. Jody was a hard working, thoughtful and funny woman. One of those people that made this world a better place. My deepest sympathy to her family and her work family.

My mom. She loved so many things, her soul was just happy and you could feel it radiate from her. I remember being younger and playing outside She would find the wooly caterpillars and place them in our hands as kids. We were never afraid of bugs because of her. We love them all The salamanders the toads the ladybugs and lightning bugs. She would be the first one to come to the rescue so baby bird that fell out of the nest or one that had broken its wing. She loved animals so much I even remember her trying to give my guinea pig CPR after it passed away. These memories make me smile because it speaks to what a loving and caring soul she is. She was so intelligent, And I remember her having such a great vocabulary which I've carried on into my adulthood. She loved her family so much, no matter what every morning she would wake up with my dad and make him an egg sandwich even if she could have slept in, she always made sure her girls were up to date with our teeth cleanings and check ups. She taught me out to really take care of myself. I remember when we were little and if we went to bed without brushing our teeth she would actually come in with a cup of water a toothbrush and an empty cup to spit in and brush our teeth for us as we just sat up and sleepily opened our mouths. And I have yet to have a cavity. She also made the best lunches in school I remember she would give me such a great variety. A sandwich apples peeled with cinnamon and sugar on them peeled cut up carrots and celery, and always a treat. I loved her cooking- the holidays dinner, tuna casserole, chickpea cucumber salad, spaghetti and meat balls and My favorite, roast chicken dinner ooh actually her deep dark chocolate cake!!! Best. By watching her cook from scratch, I learn how to cook. I remember the first time I moved out and decided I wanted to make spaghetti and meatballs I just somehow knew how to make the meatballs because I'd watched her so many times. I loved walking around the yard with her, her favorite thing to do was find unique mushrooms, she had fun identifying and researching them. She knew the name of every plant there is. And her favorite was the forget me not flower. I will never forget or stop loving her. Her legacy is carried on through her family especially her children and nieces/nephews. I see parts of myself and my sister's that look like her. For example I have her legs, beautiful spider veins and all. And I LOVE THEM because I am reminded that she is still here. It's not been easy, but if she taught me anything it was how to be strong and have patience in a chaotic time. She is my mother, the forever prom queen, cheerleader captain , and matriarch.

I was truly blessed to have such a loving, caring sister-in-law. I will miss our conversations and everything about you. Jody you were absolutely one of the sweetest people I have ever known. Pop adored you, but who didn't? You were unique in every good way. We are so devasted by this loss because of how incredibly special you were!
Over the past several weeks, I'm flooded with both memories and tears. I especially loved thinking about the kids when they were little swimming in our pool!
We are praying for the girls and Tommy constantly! I will love and miss your sweet soul always! Rest with the Lord and Pop in peace!
All my love,
Alison Marcinkowski

I have thought about Jody so often! She had a huge impact on me when I started my dental assisting with Dr Monack in Succasunna. Jody was the assistant I aspired to be! I have been working at Randolph HS for the past 6 years and I think about her when ever I drive up Millbrooj- always trying to remember which house was her family’s. I do wish I had pursued trying to connect with Jody these past years- may you all be comforted by your memories. Such a loss. Patti (Cormey) Siegel

So incredibly sorry for the loss of Jody. I worked with Jody for many years at the Dental Office. Jody was without a doubt one of the hardest workers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She was upbeat and always happy. She was an incredible co worker and would always lend you a hand, even when she herself was busy. I Will remember her wonderful smile and amazing attitude. Rest in peace Jody

Jody has been a part of our family’s life for over 30 years and she and our mother, Catherine Mitchell were dental assistants working for Dr. Stephen Richter. Our mother loved and respected Jody and enjoyed being a friend as Jody’s life expanded with her marriage and the birth of her daughters. Jody’s friendly face and warmth were evident every time one of us was in the office. She always took the time to check in and chat, getting caught up with our lives and taking an interest in our family as it continued to grow. She was always smiling, always caring and truly a beautiful soul. She will be truly missed and we share in the grief of her loss. The family of Catherine Mitchell – Jeanne Mitchell, Maryann and Wayne, Robert and Connor Lindsey.

I am devastated by the loss of my friend, coworker and surrogate mother. Jody was a remarkable woman who showed me everything I know about being a stellar dental assistant for the 18 years I worked with her. She was a dedicated and highly skilled registered dental assistant to Dr. Richter since 1983 and was a staple at Dental Group of Morristown. She strived and accomplished perfection In everything she did at work and home and was truly selfless. She was an avid birdwatcher and botanist and loved her furry companions Ace and until recently Jersey. She devoted her entire life to her husband, daughters, parents, siblings and father n law without asking anything in return but everyone that knew her loved her deeply. She loved with her whole heart and was a talented, kind, honest and respected woman. I will never forget the impact she made on my life.

I am so sorry to hear of Jody's passing. She always gave 110% and was a joy to work with. I remember she loved her gardening and the bird houses. She also went out of her way to come over my house to help me get my vegetable garden ready. Sending prayers to Jody's family.

Jody was one of the most selfless people I have ever known! She was a top notch dental assistant that always put the patient first with her caring and kind demeanor. The patients all loved her as did the staff! She strove for excellence in her career and her life! Her friends at the office had great respect for her always.
Her family was so important to her as well as her fur babies and her plants! She was so well loved by her three daughters and had so much love to give back!
Everyone loved Jody and she will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Judy Caldwell
