Obituary of Anthony J. Pellegrino

Anthony J. Pellegrino, 88, of Hopatcong passed away on Monday August 8, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 30, 1934 to the late Pasquale and Marie (Sciannamea) Pellegrino, Anthony has resided in Hopatcong for many years.  He served proudly in the United States Army.  Anthony earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Long Island University.  He was a member of the New York Stock Exchange and a partner at H.L. Goldberg & Company and later a partner at Stern Brothers. 

Anthony enjoyed golf and baseball and was a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets.  He also enjoyed crosswords puzzles and very dry Beefeater martinis on the rocks with olives.  Other hobbies include his dogs, conservative politics, keeping tabs on the stock market, boating and caring for his home.  Family was of paramount importance to Anthony, especially spending time with his granddaughter and bickering with his wife.

Survivors include his wife Margaret (Pastore) Pellegrino, Son Patrick Pellegrino and wife Robyn, granddaughter Maria Pellegrino, a sister Mary Elaine Satriano and husband John and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anthony’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Saturday August 13 from 2:00-6:00 PM and Sunday August 14 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.  A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday August 15 at 10:00 AM at St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong.  Anthony will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Hackettstown.  In lieu of flowers please consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
