Obituary of Elizabeth W. Hazelton

Elizabeth W. Hazelton "Betty" of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old. Elizabeth was born on January 20, 1937 in Dundee Scotland to the late Peter and the late Elizabeth (Wood) Watson.

Elizabeth immigrated to the United States when she was 19 years old to become a nanny. Mrs. Hazelton was a long-time resident of Hopatcong, NJ. She was employed as a clerk typist for the County College of Morris for many years before retiring. Elizabeth enjoyed knitting and crocheting but most importantly she loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by her devoted children, Valerie Ischinger and her husband, David and Richard Hazelton and his wife, Tamar Rothenberg, her cherished grandchildren, David " Drew" Ischinger, Kaitlyn Paey and her husband, Brice and Jenna Ischinger and her great-grandchildren, Declan Paey and Ronan Paey. Additional survivors include her siblings, Ann Chapman (in England), Margaret Donnichie (in Scotland) and Peter Watson (in Scotland). She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Richard in 2004.

Elizabeth's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Thursday, September 1st from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a Prayer Service offered at 11:00 am at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. Elizabeth will be laid to rest with her husband at the Succasunna Methodist Cemetery immediately following the Prayer Service.
