Obituary of Lawrence Van Riper, Jr.

Lawrence Van Riper, Jr. of Succasunna, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the VNA Hospice in Dover, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years old. Lawrence was born on September 20, 1937 in Morristown, NJ to the late Lawrence and the late Helen (Ader) Van Riper.

Lawrence resided in Landing, NJ and Boca Raton, Florida prior to moving to Succasunna, NJ 30 years ago. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Morris County Road Department where he worked for many years before retiring. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling and woodworking but most importantly, Lawrence loved spending time with his cherished family and friends.

Lawrence is survived by his devoted children, Diane Perillo and her husband, Tom, Dawn Foote and her husband, Mike, his cherished grandchildren; Tiffany (Nick) DeFilippis, Kyle (Estela) Perillo, Brian (Kelsie) Foote, Sean (Stephanie) Foote and Shannon (Dom) Foote and his great-grandchildren; Alyssa, Liam and Christian. Additional survivors include many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Lawrence was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Gwendolyn on June 8, 2022 and his daughter, Deborah Sheard on August 13, 2019 and his granddaughter, Jeni Owens on September 9, 2121.

Lawrence's Life Celebration Services were held privately and at the convenience of the family.
