Obituary of Eileen Kolaya

Eileen (Brennan) Kolaya of Hopatcong passed peacefully away Friday November 25, 2022 at VNA Hospice, Dover.

She was 90.

Born on January 5, 1932 in Englewood to the late Thomas Francis Edward Brennan and the late Ida Olga (Hahn) Brennan, she has lived in Hopatcong since 1969.

Eileen was a homemaker who in her later years enjoyed sitting on her front porch with Gus and her good friend Grace greeting (and whistling at) passerbyers.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph Kolaya, Sr. Devoted mother of Joseph Kolaya Jr. (Linda) and Scott Kolaya (Lynne). Cherished grandmother of Jessica, Joseph III and Drew. Loving great grandmother of Kalee, Jacob and Quentin. Dear sister of the late Ida, Ed, Tom and Frank.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Eileen’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, November 30 from 5:30PM to 9:00PM in the funeral home.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 10:00AM. The funeral home will open at 9:30AM.

Following the Prayer Service, Eileen will be laid to rest with her husband Joseph in the Stanhope Union Cemetery, Netcong.

We are celebrating Eileen’s life on Saturday at Joe and Linda’s house in Hopatcong at 7:00PM where we will raise a glass to Eileen.
