Obituary of Janice Lea Hosler

Janice Lea Hosler of Lake Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Boonton Care Center in Boonton, NJ surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old. Janice was born on April 15, 1936 in Hoboken, NJ to the late Stanley and the late Mary (Hopkins) Wicks.

Janice was a secretary at Lenape Valley Regional High School for many years before retiring. She also was employed as a school bus driver for 15 years as well as a police matron for the Byram Township Police Department. Janice enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting, playing cards and learning anything new. She was an avid reader and loved warm weather and trips to the beach. Janice also took great pride in doing yard work.

Mrs. Hosler was very involved in the local community. She was a member of the Elks Club, the VFW and the Ladies Auxiliary at the Cranberry Lake Fire Department.

Janice is survived by her sons, Scott Hosler and his wife, Karen, and Tracy Hosler and his wife, Regina and her daughter, Cheryl Hosler and her husband, Robert LaManna. Additional survivors include her cherished grandchildren: Shane, Christopher, Daniel, Cameron, Margaret, Stevie, Samantha and Heather and her great-grandchildren: Peter, Charlee, Chase and Eli. Janice was predeceased by her beloved husband, John P. Hosler in 2020 and her brother, Tony Wicks.

Janice's Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Gathering on Friday, December 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service offered at 6:30 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing, NJ 07850. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
