Obituary of Gerard Mazzei

Gerard W. Mazzei of Hopatcong, NJ passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Care One in Parsippany. He was 62 years old. Gerard was born on November 13, 1960 in New York City to the late Dominc and the late Ann (Rafferty) Mazzei. Gerard was a guy with a big heart as a faithful and spiritual person. Gerard attended grammar school at St. Michael's Catholic School in Netcong and was a 1979 of Lenape Valley Regional High School. He grew up in the Byram Section of Lake Lackawanna and resided in Hopatcong for many years. Gerard was a graduate of CPI in Paramus, NJ and he was employed by Suburban Propane as well as several local retail stores. He was a fan of the NY Rangers, NY Giants and the NY Yankees. In addition, he was a member of the Byram Bay Christian Church in Hopatcong. Gerard enjoyed bible study, volunteering, oldies music and frequented Pavinci's Restaurant in Hopatcong for many music and dancing events. Gerard is survived by his devoted sister, Diane Mazzei, his niece, Christine Day and her husband, Charles, Great uncle to Mackenzie Day and too many cousins and dear friends to mention. Gerard's Life Celebration will include a Visitation on Friday, January 6th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with an 12:30 pm a prayer Service offered at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. Gerard will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Stanhope, NJ.
