Obituary of Walter N. Archer

Walter "Buddy" Archer of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years old. Buddy was born on February 5, 1952 in Newark, NJ to the late Walter and the late Ann (Hosonitz) Archer. Buddy was a long-time resident of Hopatcong, NJ and he owned & operated Sal's Pizzeria in Landing, NJ for the past 36 years. Mr. Archer was an avid sports fan, especially of Rutgers football, the New York Yankees and the Las Vegas Raiders. He enjoyed going to the ocean and trips to Atlantic City, but most importantly, Buddy loved spending time with his cherished family and friends. Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Amelia "Kandi" Archer, his devoted daughters; Cynthia O'Brien (James), Melissa Archer (Chuni Tandu) and Amy Archer and his cherished grandchildren; Jordan O'Brien, Katelyn O'Brien, James O'Brien and Quinten Tandu. Additional survivors include his sister, Ann Marie Jones (Edward), his sister-in-law, Judith DaChuna and his loving nieces and nephews; Andy, Justin, Jason, Suzanne, Frankie, Joey and Tristen. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna D'Elia in 2002. Buddy's Life Celebration will include a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, February 11th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with an 6:30 pm Prayer Service offered at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.
