Obituary of Biruta Piszel

Biruta Piszel of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Mount Arlington Senior Living surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old. Biruta was born on October 11, 1930 in Pittston, Pa. to the late Joseph and the late Mary Smalansks Kudirka.

Biruta was a registered nurse who worked at several area facilities during her career. She was a longtime and active parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake RC Church in Mount Arlington. Biruta enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Her best friend (more like a sister) was Doris Rutkowski (of Lake Hopatcong). They were inseperable until the time she was ill.

Biruta is survived by her devoted daughter, Ona Silvia and her husband, Ed and her cherished grandchildren, William Silvia and Marianne Silvia. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Geza in 2000 and her son, Roger in 2016.

Biruta's Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of the Lake RC Church in Mt. Arlington, NJ to be announced by the family at a later date. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. For memorial donations, please consider the charity of your choice.
