Obituary of Doris Smigelski

Doris Smigelski, a 59 year resident of Mt. Arlington, N.J., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at home. She was 96 years old. Born to the late Frank and Edith Kasmer on October 21, 1926 in Bayonne, N.J. Doris grew up in Bayonne where she graduated from Bayonne High School in 1944. Doris' passion was raising and supporting her 3 children. While working as her husband's assistant in his medical practice, she was known to take long lunch breaks and walk "Broadway" in Bayonne to chat with anyone she would come in contact with. Living on Lake Hopatcong was her "happy place" which she enjoyed watching the boats go by from her back deck. Loving wife of the late Dr. Alexander Smigelski. She is survived by her cherished children Regina Greenwood and her husband Rick, Alexander Smigelski. Jr. and his wife Beth, Barbara Smigelski Colie and her husband Henry. A dear sister to predeceased Frank Kasmer and his wife Helen. Also survived by her grandchildren Alex Smigelski and his wife Kailyn, Michael Smigelski, Ricky Greenwood, Kara Greenwood and Brian Greenwood. Great granddaughter Navy Marie Smigelski. It would have pleased Doris to have donations in her memory made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All arrangements are being conducted privately.
