Obituary of Louise L. Utter

Louise L. Utter, 84 of Bangor Maine was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully at Winterberry Heights Senior Living in Bangor on Sunday June 18, 2023.

Born on October 3, 1938 in Dover, NJ to the late Francisco and Catherine Salerno. Louise resided in Dover and Landing New Jersey prior to moving to Bangor in 2010.

She attended Sacred Heart School in Dover, Morris Hills High School and County College of Morris. She started out as a switchboard operator for McGregor-Donniger in Dover. In 1974 she began her long tenure for the Department of Defense, Research and Development at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway, NJ. In her 36 years with Picatinny, she was devoted to her work, advanced many times and received numerous awards for her dedication to her work. She retired as a Budget Program Analyst in 2010. Picatinny meant a great deal to her as this is where she met her loving husband David.

Family was very important to Louise. She grew up helping care for her beloved sister Frances who had multiple health challenges through her life. While raising her family, she often put herself last ensuring everyone had what they needed.

In earlier years Louise enjoyed traveling with her husband David. They visited many places across the country. She also loved her cats, enjoyed bowling, and country line dancing, listening to Bob Dylan and of course shopping! Her first stop on most shopping outings was the jewelry counter.

Survivors include her husband, David, son Chuck Breidt and his wife Laurie grandchildren Caitlin Breidt, CJ Breidt and his wife Whitney, great granddaughter Eleanor. Son Mark Breidt and his wife Robyn, grandson Luke, granddaughter Katie. Step- daughter, Sandy Utter-Willett and Rob Posey grandchildren Alicia and Howard Moore, great granddaughters Kayley and Kelsea. Allen Rippicandidi his wife Ashely. Step-daughter, Dawn Ackerman and Matthew Gyurkovics grandchildren Kenny Decker and his wife Cindy, Matthew Ackerman his spouse Summer and their children. Predeceasing Louise is sister Frances.

Louise will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover, NJ

Louise's Life Celebration will include a memorial gathering on Saturday July 15, 2023 from 11:00 am – 2pm. at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing NJ. A prayer service will be offered at 1:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
