Obituary of Eugene Richard Blackwell

Eugene "Rich" Blackwell of the Landing section of Roxbury Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 94 years old. Rich was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1928 in East Orange, NJ to the late Francis and the late Lily (Carver) Blackwell.

Rich graduated Newark College of Engineering and he was an Engineer employed at Singer Kearfott in Wayne, NJ for many years before retiring. Mr. Blackwell was a former resident of Montville before moving to Landing, NJ. He took great pleasure living on beautiful Lake Hopatcong. Rich enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing and boating but most importantly, he loved spending time with his loving family.

Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mildred (nee Cox), his devoted children; Stephen Blackwell and his wife, Donna, Douglas Blackwell and his wife, Kathryn and Robin Osman. Additional survivors include his cherished grandchildren; Richard (Rich), Jason (Jay), Andrew (Drew), Amanda and Adam and his great-grandchildren, Shylow, Dante, Serenity, Cash, Jagger and Brayden. He was pre-deceased by his son-in-law, Edward Osman and his siblings; Ivy Blackwell, Howard (Ray) Blackwell and Ralph Blackwell.

Rich's Life Celebration Services were held privately and at the convenience of the family.
