Obituary of James J. Calvert
James J. Calvert - "Shaggy" (70) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 23, 2023. He was born August 27, 1952 in Dover, NJ to the late Howard and Rita Calvert (Costanzo). He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, George Calvert. He is survived by his daughters, Molly Reynolds (Jay) and Kelly Buttel (Chris), his grandson Andrew Buttel, his sisters Lena Blanch (Jim) and Madeline McPherson (Jim), his sister-in-law Joan Calvert, his loving companion Caroline McMahon, her children and grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim was an auto body technician by trade and body shop manager with Norman Gale Buick GMC for 38 years before retiring to Scottsdale, AZ in 2019. He was a lifelong member of the St. Cesario Society, always spending his full week in July helping set up, and take down the feast with his friends and cousins. He was a high school football referee with the NJFOA for over ten years. He enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, watching football, and fun times with his loved ones. He was a loving, devoted father and Papa; he could build anything from scratch or fix anything to make it like new again. He will be missed dearly.
Jim's Life Celebration will include a memorial gathering on Friday August 11, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. Cremation was held privately.
