Obituary of Florenza Colavita

Florenza Colavita, 83, of Hopatcong, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Santa Maria La Fossa, Italy, on November 2, 1939 to the late Pasquale and Antonietta (Bernardo) Valentino, Florenza came to the United States at the age of 15. She has resided in Hopatcong for 37 years.

Florenza was a homemaker who took great joy in caring for her family. Especially her cherished grandchildren. Florenza was an excellent cook and baker and loved preparing meals for family and friends. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong.

Florenza was predeceased by her husband Joseph in March of 2023.

Survivors include her three children; Betty Jo Colavita, Kathleen Colavita and Leonardo Colavita, three grandchildren; Nicholas, Isabella and Evan Coats, brother; Frank Valentino and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
