Obituary of John J. Staab

John Joseph Staab of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ. He was 68 years old.

John was born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late George Staab and the late Dorothy (Einhorn) Staab on October 5, 1954. He attended Roselle Catholic High School and graduated from Strayer College with a bachelor’s degree in computer information sciences. He spent many years employed with AT&T in Morristown, NJ as a telecommunications engineer which afforded him the opportunity to travel to various parts of the world while working in a profession he truly enjoyed.

He was an expert at billiards and his precision in woodworking was admirable. His other interests included music, art, history, bowling, good cuisine, fine wine, Harley Davidson motorcycles, the New York Jets, trivia, and game shows.

He was a devoted father to Jennifer Staab, Allison Szarejko, Erica Staab, and Samantha Schneider and loving grandfather to Kyle, Kendall, Bennett, Jordan, Cameron, Cole, Gia, Abby, and Julian.  

He was the dear brother of Edward, Donna, Thomas, and the late Robert Staab and is also survived by his ex-wife, Ann Marie Staab.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John’s Life Celebration on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.

Following the Life Celebration in the funeral home, a Funeral Mass will be offered at 12:00 pm at St. Therese R.C. Church in Succasunna, NJ.
