Obituary of Michael Thomas DeCroce

Michael DeCroce, 62, of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 surrounded by his devoted family.

Born in Morristown, NJ on June 15, 1961 to Giovannina and the late Richard DeCroce, Michael resided in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway prior to moving to Hopatcong in 2018. He worked as an Auto Mechanic for Toyota of Morristown.

Michael's passions included rooting on his beloved New York Giants and New York Yankees, going to "the shore" and Atlantic City. He was fond of all "sweets" especially jelly doughnuts. He loved his many dogs and enjoyed classic cars.

Survivors include his wife; Gail (Linnett), his mother; Giovannina DeCroce, two daughters; Michelle DeCroce and her fiancé; Roo Szeles and Tessie Scully and her husband Matthew, step-daughter; Linnett Melton and grandchildren Penelope Szeles and Finley Scully. Additional survivors include his brother; Richard DeCroce, niece Jennifer Joana and her husband Steve and many extended family and close friends.

Michael's Life Celebration will include a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, October 10th at 11:00 am at St. Jude's RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ.  Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the Church on Tuesday morning.  Following the Memorial Mass, the family has extended an invitation to join them at the Parish Hall for refreshments.
