Obituary of Phyllis Imperante
Phyllis Imperante of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old. Phyllis was born on February 6, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Benjamin and the late Lillian Cohen Hirschberg.
Phyllis worked as a bank teller and assistant manager for Hudson City Savings Bank in Denville, NJ (now M&T Bank) for many years. In addition, she also worked as a cashier at Shop Rite of Dover where she enjoyed interacting with many customers and co-workers. Ms. Imperante was a longtime resident of Jefferson Twp. and a proud member of the Milton Golden Age Club. She grew up a "Tom Boy" and loved playing sports. Phyllis enjoyed reading, painting, singing, football (NY Giants Fan), boxing, fishing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her devoted children, John Imperante and Lillian Imperante and her cherished grandchildren, Erik and Mariel. She was pre-deceased by her beloved grandson, Michael in 2021.
Phyllis's Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, November 5th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a "Words of Remembrance Service" offered at 2:30 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.
