Obituary of Helmut Rehe

Helmut Rehe, 84, of Hopatcong passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5th at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Helmut A. & Mary. Helmut has resided in Hopatcong since 1964.  He served proudly in the United States Army. Helmut was a Port Authority Police Offcer and patrolled the Holland Tunnel for most of his career prior to his retirement. 

He enjoyed vacationing at Indian Rocks Beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida where he and his beloved wife enjoyed watching many sunsets.

Survivors include his wife Maureen (McKeon), three sons; William and his wife Patricia, Robert and his companion Kerri Flynn-Fulton and Richard and his wife Candace, eight grandchildren; Samantha, Robert, Brett, Larissa, Amanda, Anthony, Daniel and Mark and four great grandchildren; James, Derrick, Marley and Daniel. His brother Steve Rehe and his wife Eleanor and his sister Diane Fasciano and her late husband Joseph.

Helmut’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Tuesday December 12^th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.  A funeral prayer service will be offered at 11:00 AM Wednesday December 13^th at the funeral home.  Family and friends may gather on Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 AM.  Helmut will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
