Obituary of Mark Kenneth Cruz

Mark Kenneth Cruz, 58, of Hopatcong, passed away on Sunday December 17, 2023 at his home.

Born in Montclair, NJ on November 3, 1965 to the late Laura (DeRoon) Cruz and the late Peter Cruz, Mark grew up in North Caldwell, NJ. He has resided in Hopatcong for many years. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire Class of 1988. Mark was a well-respected Home Inspector and owner of The Protec Group of Hopatcong.

Mark held eight (8) US patents including one for moveable joint braces which helped many babies born with orthopedic abnormalities. He was an avid motorsports and car enthusiast. He raced Formula 2000 for several years. Mark was a 35-year member and driving instructor with the Porsche Club of America. He loved watersports and flying remote-control airplanes. Mark was a member of the Porsche Club of New Jersey and the Top of New Jersey RC Club.

Survivors include his devoted significant other Cheryl Milson, her parents; Bob and Joan Milson and their son; Chuck Milson. Also surviving are many close friends.
