Obituary of Francesca Jelley

Francesca (Campbell) Jelley of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2023 surrounded by her loving family and her devoted dog, Shayne. She was 94 years old. Francesca was born on November 6, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and the late Catherine (LoCascio) Carlino

Francesca was a long-time resident of Hopatcong, NJ and she was as an Office Manager with Mutual of Omaha in Succasunna for many years before retiring. She was a very active person and very involved with the Hopatcong Seniors and the Hopatcong Breakfast Club. Mrs. Jelley was an avid crocheter and she made many blankets and baby clothes that she donated to several veteran organizations as well as the children's wing at local hospitals. Francesca had a very sharp mind and was a whiz at doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and playing cards with family but most importantly, Francesca loved spending time with her cherished family and friends.

Francesca is survived by her devoted children, Kathleen F. Campbell, Patricia Jarrett (Tom), Barbara Repsher, Geralynn Esposito (Mike) and Kenneth J. Campbell (Gina) and her brother, Rocco Carlino. Additional survivors include her cherished grandchildren; Jennifer, Jodie, Dana, Christine, Kelly, John, Jaime, Erika, Seana, Michael, Francesca and Giada, 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Joseph in 1987, her daughter, Teresa Clark in 2019, her sisters, Rose, Vincenza and Fifi and her brother, Chester. Also predeceased by a daughter-in-law Karen Calandriello 2012. 

Francesca's Life Celebration will include a Visitation on Tuesday, January 2nd from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 3rd at 11:00 am at St. Michael's RC Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ. Francesca will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Stanhope Union Cemetery, 69 Love Lane in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ.
