Obituary of Grace Church

Grace Church, 83, of Hopatcong passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19th, 2024 at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Plainfield, NJ on April 13, 1940 to the late August and the late Grace (Wheeler) Moody, Grace has resided in Hopatcong for 60 years.

Grace earned her Registered Nurse certification from Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, NJ prior to raising her family. Later, she was a beloved substitute nurse/teacher in the Hopatcong and surrounding school systems. Grace was a long-standing member of the First Memorial Presbyterian Church of Dover, NJ for 50 years where she thoroughly enjoyed participating in various choir activities throughout Morris County, Sussex County, and Ocean Grove. 

Grace was predeceased by her son Robert, Jr. in 2014.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Robert, Sr., three children; Victoria Finn and her husband; Michael, Tony Church and his wife; Marlo and Grace Church and her partner; James Sommers and granddaughter; Madeline Paige Church. Also surviving are many other beloved extended family members and friends.

Grace's Life Celebration will be conducted privately at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
