Obituary of Diane M. Simon

Diane M. Simon of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 at home,   she was 81 years old.  Diane was born on January 7, 1943 in Valley Stream, NY to the late Edward and the late Alice Preuss.

Diane was and aide and a bus driver for Cassidy Transportation in Mount Olive Twp. for many years before retiring.  She resided in Hopatcong, NJ for the past 55 years and previous to that, she lived in Hackensack, NJ.  Mrs. Simon enjoyed fishing and was a passionate animal lover. Diane loved horses and was very active training, riding and showing horses throughout her life.  She enjoyed going to tack sales and the flea market after retirement.

Diane is survived by her devoted daughter, Debra Prell, her sons, Michael and William and her grandchildren; Brittany, Tyler, Kaitlin and Kasey.  She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, George in 2011.

Diane’s Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Gathering to be announced by the family at a later date.  All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.   For memorial donations, please consider a donation to an animal charity of your choice in memory of Diane.
